About Mudskippers Pottery
Every child deserves a chance to create.
Mudskippers Pottery is a family-owned ceramics education business with a simple purpose: to give children access to meaningful, affordable experiences with clay. We’ve been bringing that purpose to after-school classes and summer camps across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia since 2016!
Our Approach
At Mudskippers Pottery, we make room for every child’s creativity. Our approach combines hands-on exploration with clear, encouraging instruction, helping students build skills while bringing their own ideas to life. We introduce pottery techniques, explore inspiration from art and culture, and give children the freedom to make each project their own.
We value the learning that happens along the way—trying something new, solving a problem, practicing patience, and feeling proud of a creation. With guidance suited to their age and experience, students can grow at their own pace in a welcoming environment. Our goal is for every child to leave with a piece they’re excited to share and the confidence to keep creating.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make ceramics education accessible to students across the DMV helping children develop skills, express their ideas, and build a lasting connection with art.
